Despite Red Alert Rain, Shikshak Sena Successfully Conducts ‘Prerna Diwas’ Tree Plantation Drive

On the occasion of Shiv Sena chief and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s birthday (27th July), the Maharashtra State Shikshak Sena organized its annual Tree Plantation pragram under the banner of ‘Prerna Month’, as it has done consistently for the past eight years. Under the guidance of Shikshak Sena Chief Abhyankar Sir, this campaign has been actively running across Maharashtra, planting and nurturing lakhs of trees to date.

This year, the campaign began on 25th July 2025 at the prestigious Chanda Public School in Chandrapur. Even though the weather department issued a Red Alert on 24th July, declaring a holiday for all schools in the district, the Maharashtra State Shikshak Sena moved forward with full enthusiasm and successfully carried out the plantation drive amidst heavy rainfall.

The event was led by District President Mr. Rajesh Naidu. Representatives from various political parties, including Shiv Sena, Congress, and Jan Vikas Sena, actively participated. Prominent attendees included senior Shiv Sena leader Kusumtai Udar, Varshatai Kothekar, Congress leader Yusuf Bhai, Jan Vikas Sena Founder-President Pappu Deshmukh, Gaurav Nagdevate, Chhatrapati Awardee Kundan Naidu, Principal of City Girls School Mrs. Pratima Naidu, Sunil Devangan, and a large number of students.

On this occasion, the speakers emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and encouraged youth to participate in such inspirational activities. Kusumtai Udar described the drive as the most meaningful way to celebrate Uddhav Ji’s birthday, while Varshatai Kothekar assured full support from the Shiv Sena Mahila Aghadi (Women’s Wing) for all initiatives led by the Shikshak Sena.

As part of the same campaign, a tree plantation event was also organized on 25th July at Chandrapur’s renowned St. Michael English School as part of Prerna Diwas. The school’s Vice Principal Mr. Sudhir Sir, teaching staff, and office-bearers of the Women’s Wing were present in large numbers. They also appreciated the efforts of the Shikshak Sena.

At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Rajesh Naidu expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Smita Sanjay Jivtode, Director of Chanda Public School, Principal Mr. Vikas Sir of St. Michael School, faculty, school staff, students, and all supporters for their cooperation. He affirmed that in the coming days, the plantation drive will be extended to several other schools and colleges across Chandrapur.

This initiative by the Shikshak Sena is not just an inspiring step towards environmental protection, but also a powerful symbol of political and social unity.
